Genoma Cardia is a formula based around the combination of the herb Hawthorn berry and the amino acid l-Taurine and is designed to promote healthy cardiovascular function.

Hawthorn berries have been used since the Middle Ages to help maintain cardiovascular functions while also helping to promote healthy blood pressure levels. It has been extensively studied both in the US and in Europe. One study of 78 subjects found significant improvement in exercise tolerance and lower blood pressure and heart rate during exercise. Another study, following 32 subjects who used a Hawthorn supplement for 8 weeks, found improved exercise tolerance as well as a reduction in the incidence and severity of shortness of breath. Fatigue decreased by approximately 50% in these subjects as well.

Taurine is a non-essential amino acid. It has a myriad of positive healthful effects, including the enhancement of detoxification and removal of xenobiotic (man-made) chemicals from the body. Low levels of taurine have been associated with retinal degeneration, growth retardation, and cardiomyopathy (heart enlargement).
