A model Fair Trade project and strong promoter of women's participation, the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera de Pangoa (CAC Pangoa) is located in the Peruvian Amazon, east of Lima. Through the trade of coffee via the Fair Trade network, local farmers were able to build a hydro plant and supply electricity to their whole community. Other community improvement projects include the construction of a secondary school, organic transition project, a credit fund and training in crop management

Using traditional farming methods to produce this high-quality, hand-picked coffee, the 700 members of the cooperative utilize natural resources in a responsible manner, ensuring the preservation of the forest, soil and rivers of this Andean region.
